"Star Wars: Zero Company Revealed by Respawn and Bit Reactor This Weekend"
After a minor leak last week, EA has officially unveiled the title and development team behind its upcoming Star Wars game. Named Star Wars: Zero Company, the game is being crafted by the newly-formed studio Bit Reactor, with collaborative support from Lucasfilm Games and Respawn.
While details on Star Wars: Zero Company remain sparse, we do know it will be a "single-player turn-based tactics game." Fans won't have to wait long for more information, as EA plans to offer a first look at the game on April 19 during Star Wars Celebration in Japan.
Bit Reactor, established in 2022, comprises industry veterans from acclaimed titles such as XCOM, Civilization, Gears of War, and Elder Scrolls Online. Although we've been aware of their collaboration with Respawn on a Star Wars project for some time, this marks the first instance of receiving concrete details about the game.
The extent of Respawn's involvement in Star Wars: Zero Company remains somewhat ambiguous. The studio has faced significant challenges recently, including the cancellation of its own Star Wars FPS project last year and mass layoffs at EA, as well as the termination of another multiplayer FPS incubation project just last month.
Further insights into Star Wars: Zero Company will be shared during a live panel on Saturday, April 19 at 4:30pm local time in Japan. For U.S. fans, that translates to an early morning reveal at 12:30am PT and 3:30am ET, so set your alarms if you don't want to miss out on the latest updates.
