Solarium Acquisition Guide for No Man's Sky
No Man's Sky: A Comprehensive Guide to Obtaining Solanium
Solanium, a crucial resource in No Man's Sky, is exclusive to planets with specific climates. This guide details how to acquire Solanium through gathering, farming, and crafting.
Finding Solanium:
Unlike Frost Crystals, Solanium is found on hot, arid planets. While in space, target a planet and use your scanner to identify its climate type. Look for designations such as Arid, Incandescent, Boiling, or Scorched Planet. The scanner will also list Solanium as a resource if present.
Once landed, utilize your Analysis Visor to locate Solar Vines—tall, rock-like structures with luminous vines. These are abundant in specific areas and require a Haz-Mat Gauntlet for harvesting. If Phosphorus deposits are available, collect them as well; they're vital for Solanium crafting.
Farming Solanium:
After progressing the Farmer's Agricultural Research mission, you can cultivate Solar Vines at your base. Use a Hydroponic Tray or Bio-Dome, planting Solar Vines with 50 Solanium and 50 Phosphorus. Hot planets allow direct ground planting. Harvesting occurs after approximately 16 real-time hours.
Crafting Solanium:
The Refiner offers several Solanium crafting recipes, mostly requiring Phosphorus (obtainable on hot planets or from traders/Galactic Trade Terminals). Recipes include:
- Solanium + Phosphorus (to produce more Solanium)
- Phosphorus + Oxygen
- Phosphorus + Sulphurine
- Di-hydrogen + Sulphurine
Note that all recipes, even those using Sulphurine, necessitate a visit to a hot planet. To consistently acquire Sulphurine, focus on gathering Phosphorus and building a base farm.
