A thrilling crossover has emerged between a Sony property and a Microsoft game, as Sea of Thieves introduces new cosmetics inspired by the world of Destiny 2. This exciting collaboration brings the battle against the Darkness to the high seas, allowing players to immerse themselves in a unique blend of both universes.

The Lightbearer cosmetics set, now available in Sea of Thieves, includes an array of items such as new flags, ship cosmetics, and a costume set. The trailer for these new items showcases various nods to Destiny, including the Drifter's iconic outfit and a ghost hanging off the front of a ship. Players can explore a wealth of options at the Pirate Emporium to deck out their ships and sailors with these Destiny-themed cosmetics.

PlaySea of Thieves made a splash on PlayStation last year, marking one of several Microsoft properties that have expanded to Sony's console. Destiny, on the other hand, has remained on Xbox even after Bungie's acquisition by Sony. This crossover might blur traditional console boundaries, but it's a delightful fusion, especially with the Drifter's outfit fitting seamlessly into the world of Sea of Thieves.

Season 15 of Sea of Thieves has recently launched, bringing with it new encounters, voyages, and fresh content to enhance the long-standing piracy experience. Rare's game has not only stayed afloat but has also seen significant success on the PlayStation 5, even topping an EU sales chart upon its release on the platform.

Meanwhile, Destiny 2 has introduced the Heresy expansion and continues to evolve following the narrative climax in The Final Shape. The space-faring shooter has also engaged in other notable crossovers, such as with Star Wars.

Both Sea of Thieves and Destiny 2 have navigated the dynamic landscape of live-service game production successfully, making this crossover a fitting celebration of their resilience. The Destiny 2-inspired cosmetics are now available in Sea of Thieves, though it's uncertain if Destiny 2 will reciprocate with Sea of Thieves content. In an imaginative twist, envisioning a massive pirate ship sailing through space could be an exciting addition to Destiny 2.
