Scammers are distributing fake invitations to test Elden Ring Nightreign

Author : Joshua Update : Mar 01,2025

Bandai Namco has begun sending out invitations to closed testing for Elden Ring: Nightreign, scheduled for February 14-17, 2025. Selected players will be among the first to experience the game's three-person cooperative mode.

However, due to the game's popularity, a wave of fraudulent invitations is circulating. Reports indicate scammers are sending emails mimicking official Bandai Namco notifications, containing links to fake websites designed to resemble Steam. These malicious links compromise player accounts upon login. Some players have even received these fraudulent messages from compromised friends' accounts. While some victims have successfully recovered their accounts through Steam support, caution is paramount.

Exercise extreme caution when clicking links and always verify the authenticity of the source. When in doubt, consult official Bandai Namco channels and avoid suspicious links.

A notable change in Elden Ring: Nightreign is the removal of the in-game messaging feature. Project director Junya Ishizaki explained this decision, stating that the approximately forty-minute session length doesn't allow sufficient time for players to send or read messages effectively. Therefore, the feature has been temporarily disabled for the closed testing period.
