The Sony Bravia XR X93L was launched in March 2023, positioning itself as the second highest-end non-OLED TV in Sony's lineup at the time, just behind the X95L, which was only available in an 85" size in the United States. The X93L utilizes Mini LED technology, renowned for its superior performance in HDR content. This technology features an array of LEDs that can independently turn on and off, enhancing black levels and contrast ratio. With Mini-LEDs being smaller and more numerous, the control over brightness levels within scenes is significantly improved.

For gamers, the X93L is an excellent choice. It is equipped with four HDMI ports, two of which support the HDMI 2.1 specification. This allows for 4K output at a 120Hz refresh rate, ideal for current-generation consoles such as the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. While the new Switch 2 will cap at 60fps in 4K when docked, HDMI 2.1 isn't necessary for that system.
