Ryan Reynolds in Early Talks for Deadpool-X-Men Film
Ryan Reynolds is reportedly in the "early stages" of developing a new film that would bring together Deadpool and members of the X-Men. According to THR, this project would not position Deadpool as the central figure but rather as part of an ensemble cast, sharing the spotlight with three or four other X-Men characters. Reynolds' vision for the film includes these characters taking center stage, allowing them to be "used in unexpected ways."
This proposed movie would be distinct from another X-Men project currently in development by Hunger Games' writer Michael Lesslie. Reynolds is known for refining his concepts independently before presenting them to Marvel, a process similar to what he did with Deadpool & Wolverine, which initially was conceived as a low-budget road trip movie.
While this isn't the first time rumors have circulated about Reynolds working on a Deadpool ensemble film, this new information provides further insight into potential future adventures for the Merc With a Mouth. As for which X-Men might join Deadpool in this cinematic venture, it remains uncertain. However, Deadpool has a history of collaborating with various X-Men characters and their adversaries in previous films, including Wolverine, Colossus, Sabertooth, Pyro, and even Channing Tatum's Gambit.
