Respawn Abandons Secret Titanfall Multiplayer Project

A former employee of Respawn Entertainment disclosed on LinkedIn that a project in development for several years was abruptly halted this week. No specific reasons were provided for the sudden termination of the game's production.

Last year, gaming journalist Jeff Grubb reported that the canceled project was not intended as a mainline entry in the series, specifically not Titanfall 3. To work on this game, Respawn established a dedicated "experimental team" composed of experts in multiplayer shooter development.

This is not the first time Respawn has faced project cancellations. Previously, they shut down an arcade shooter codenamed Titanfall Legends last year.

The Titanfall series, renowned for its exhilarating mix of action and mech piloting, allows players to engage in combat either as agile pilots or as formidable Titans. Since its debut in 2014, the franchise has captivated gamers with its innovative gameplay, featuring parkour and intense team battles.

Currently, Respawn's focus has shifted to other ventures. They are diligently working on the third installment of the Star Wars Jedi series and collaborating with Bit Reactor on a new strategy game set within the Star Wars universe.
