Rainbow Six Siege X, a big upgrade to the popular esports game announced
It’s become a tradition for developers of popular esports titles to unveil major announcements just before the grand finals of their world championships. Ubisoft, in keeping with this tradition, and with Rainbow Six Siege entering its tenth year, delivered a significant reveal.
Ubisoft announced Siege X, a substantial upgrade to Rainbow Six Siege. The developers clarified that this isn't a sequel, but it’s far more than a simple update. Think of the relationship between Siege X and Rainbow Six Siege as similar to that of Counter-Strike 2 and Global Offensive: a major overhaul that feels like a new game, while preserving all player progress and data.
Further details will be unveiled during a special presentation on March 13th. Ubisoft promises a three-hour-long event with a live audience in Atlanta. To commemorate Rainbow Six Siege’s ten-year anniversary, a celebratory pack has also been released, offering players the chance to unlock legendary skins from the game's earliest seasons – a comprehensive collection in one convenient package.
