Pokémon Go Tour: Unova Unveils Black and White Kyurem with New Adventure Effects Globally

Author : Samuel Update : Apr 25,2025

The legendary Black Kyurem and White Kyurem are set to make their much-anticipated debut during the Pokémon Go Tour: Unova – Global, bringing with them exciting new Adventure Effects that will enhance your Pokémon-catching experience outside of battle. Don't forget to leverage the Tour Pass to maximize your earnings throughout the event.

Black Kyurem's signature move, Freeze Shock, envelops wild Pokémon in electrically charged ice for 10 minutes, effectively immobilizing them and making them much easier to catch. On the other hand, White Kyurem's Ice Burn slows down the target ring during encounters, significantly increasing your chances of landing those coveted Excellent Throws. You have the option to extend these effects by 10-minute increments, up to two hours at a time, with a maximum total of 24 hours.

During the event, you'll have the opportunity to challenge Black Kyurem and White Kyurem in five-star raids to gather Fusion Energy. By fusing Zekrom or Reshiram with a Kyurem that knows Glaciate, you can replace it with Freeze Shock or Ice Burn. These moves will revert back to Glaciate once the Pokémon are separated. It's important to note that currently, Kyurem cannot learn these moves through Charged TM or Elite Charged TM.

ytYou'll have the choice between two event badges: the Black Version (Reshiram) or the White Version (Zekrom). Opting for the Black Version means that any Kyurem you encounter after defeating Black Kyurem will know Glaciate, and you'll receive Reshiram-themed Special Research rewards. Choosing the White Version will grant you Zekrom-themed Special Research rewards, and Kyurem encountered after defeating White Kyurem will also know Glaciate.

To enhance your progression, make use of the Tour Pass, which not only unlocks various rewards but also boosts your Adventure Effects. You can collect Tour Points by catching Pokémon, participating in raids, and hatching Eggs. Alternatively, you can accelerate your progress by completing quick Pass Tasks. Each Major Milestone you reach will increase your Catch XP and extend the duration of Freeze Shock or Ice Burn.

For those looking for even more benefits, consider upgrading to the Tour Pass Deluxe. This premium version provides an immediate encounter with Victini, more event-themed encounters, an exclusive avatar item, and the innovative Lucky Trinket. The Lucky Trinket is a one-time-use item that enables you to become Lucky Friends with a chosen person from your Friend List, thereby improving your next trade.

The Pokémon Go Tour: Unova – Global is scheduled to run from February 24th to March 2nd, so mark your calendars and prepare for an unforgettable Pokémon adventure!
