Pokémon Legends: Z-A Release Date Rumored to Have Surfaced
Pokémon Legends: Z-A: August 15th, 2025 Release Date Leak
Rumors of a Pokémon Legends: Z-A release date surfaced online, pointing to August 15th, 2025. This potential launch date, initially spotted on Amazon UK in early January 2025, aligns with The Pokémon Company's previously stated release window.
Announced during the Pokémon Day 2024 celebrations in February, Pokémon Legends: Z-A is the anticipated sequel to 2022's Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Following the exploration-focused gameplay of its predecessor, which prioritized open-ended gameplay and collection over traditional gym battles and the Pokémon League, details on Z-A have remained scarce since its initial reveal.
The Amazon UK listing briefly displaying the August 15th date, as noted by content creator Light88, was swiftly removed, reverting to a December 31st placeholder. However, the August date fits within the previously announced 2025 release window.
February 2025 Confirmation Possible
The official release date may be unveiled sooner than expected. Similar to its initial announcement during Pokémon Day 2024, the release date could be revealed during the 2025 Pokémon Day event on February 27th – the anniversary of the original Japanese release of Pokémon Red and Green. Recent findings from a Pokémon GO data miner support this February 27th date for Pokémon Day 2025.
Beyond the release date, fans anticipate a gameplay reveal, potentially debuting at the same Pokémon Presents broadcast.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A's initial announcement confirmed its Nintendo Switch exclusivity. However, Nintendo's subsequent announcement of backward compatibility for the upcoming Switch 2 means the game will also launch on that platform. While mainline Pokémon games typically include paid post-launch DLC, Pokémon Legends: Arceus only received a single free update, "Daybreak."
