How to Pause Quests & Hunts in Monster Hunter Wilds
While Monster Hunter Wilds shines brightest when shared with friends online, solo hunts can be equally rewarding. But what about those unexpected real-life interruptions? Here's how to pause the game in Monster Hunter Wilds.
Pause Game During Quests and Hunts

Pausing your solo Monster Hunter Wilds adventure is easy. Simply access the in-game menu by pressing the Options button. Then, use L1 or R1 to navigate to the Systems tab. Select "Pause Game" with the X button. This completely halts the action, even mid-hunt or combat. To resume, press the Circle button or R3. This pause function is a lifesaver for those unexpected real-world moments. Even in online mode, if you're playing solo (no other players in your lobby or party), you retain this handy pause feature.
Can You Pause in Multiplayer?
Unfortunately, the pause function is disabled in multiplayer mode. If you're playing with others, you won't be able to pause the game. If you need a break, try to find a safe spot for your character to avoid taking damage. Remember, in multiplayer hunts, the monster's health pool is larger, so extended AFK periods could put your team at a disadvantage.
