Nintendo's Japanese Alarmo Delayed Amid Global Launch

Due to unforeseen stock shortages, Nintendo has delayed the general retail release of the Alarmo alarm clock in Japan. The launch, initially scheduled for February 2025, is now postponed indefinitely. This announcement, made via the official Nintendo Japan website, cites production and inventory challenges as the reason for the delay. Currently, there's no indication of whether this will impact the international release, planned for March 2025.

To address the high demand, Nintendo Japan is implementing a pre-order system exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers in Japan. This pre-order window opens mid-December, with deliveries expected in early February 2025. The precise pre-order start date will be announced shortly.

The Alarmo, a popular interactive alarm clock featuring music from iconic Nintendo franchises (Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Pikmin, Splatoon, RingFit Adventure, and more), initially launched in October 2024. Its unexpected popularity quickly led to online order suspensions and a lottery system for remaining stock. Physical units sold out rapidly in Japanese and New York Nintendo stores.
