Square Enix Announced NieR 15th Anniversary Special Novel

During the NieR 15th Anniversary livestream on April 19, Square Enix unveiled a host of new projects, including the online Special Novel titled [U]ndecided Option. This novel will be released in three parts, with the first part already available, and the subsequent updates scheduled for April 25 and May 2. The story follows a 'servant' who encounters a mysterious boy, setting the stage for an intriguing narrative.

To complement this announcement, Square Enix launched a dedicated 15th Anniversary website, which serves as the main hub for the online novel and other related projects and events planned for the anniversary.

Exhibition, Concerts, Merchandise, and More

Square Enix is organizing an exhibition at Sunshine City in Ikebukuro, Japan, showcasing new artwork featuring the protagonists from Replicant, Automata, and Re[in]carnation. Further details on tickets and other information will be shared soon.

For music enthusiasts, additional performances of the NieR: Orchestra Concert 12024 have been scheduled in Osaka on July 25 and 26, and in Tokyo on August 2 and 3. Tickets are available via lottery, and more details can be found on the concert's official website.

Starting April 28, Square Enix will launch a monthly developer blog series for NieR Re[in]carnation, their first mobile title released in January 2021. Despite the game's closure in April 2024 due to monetization issues, the developer blog has sparked speculation among fans about potential sequels or remakes, though no official announcements have been made.
