Myst meets Lovecraft in My Father Lied

In today's crowded gaming landscape, finding a truly unique game is a challenge. My Father Lied, however, stands out with its captivating narrative. This mystery/Lovecraftian puzzle adventure boasts a compelling story that sets it apart from the crowd.

My Father Lied: An Indie Developer's Vision

The game's creation story is fascinating. Ahmed Alameen, the developer, wasn't originally a game designer. In 2020, he was establishing himself as a writer and filmmaker. A college friend suggested collaborating on a game, but the team disbanded, leaving the project unfinished.

Undeterred, Alameen pursued the story independently. He taught himself 3D modeling and Unreal Engine, realizing his vision solo. Even the game's title was a collaborative effort with his wife.

Unraveling the Mystery

The game plunges players into a mystery steeped in ancient Mesopotamian myths, filled with secrets, puzzles, and surprises.

Players take on the role of Huda, a young woman grappling with a twenty-year-old question: What happened to her father? The answer, as the story unfolds, proves far from straightforward.

My Father Lied skillfully blends ancient Mesopotamian culture with modern storytelling. The puzzles are user-friendly, employing a simple point-and-click interface with stunning 2D visuals and 360-degree imagery.
