Monster Hunter Wilds Update 1.011 Details Revealed by Developers on May 28
Yuya Tokuda, the director of Monster Hunter Wilds, has shared exciting details about the upcoming Ver. 1.011 update, set to release on May 28. This update promises a wealth of new features and enhancements, highlighted by a special collaboration with Street Fighter 6.
In his latest Director's Letter, Tokuda expressed the team's commitment to enriching the gameplay experience. A key addition is the introduction of Street Fighter's Akuma as a new challenger. Players can look forward to an Arkuma armor set and a layered armor set. Equipping either set will add three unique items to your item bar: assisted combo Akuma, Drive Impact, and Gou Hadoken. For more details on these items, visit the official Monster Hunter website.
The update will also introduce eight-star "challenging" monsters available for hunters at HR 41 and above. The lineup includes Gore Magala, Rey Dau, Uth Duna, Nu Udra, and Jin Dahaad. These monsters offer a tougher challenge compared to their seven-star counterparts, with enhanced health, wound resistance, and adjusted multiplayer scaling. Tokuda highlighted Tempered Gore Magala as a particularly formidable foe. Expect more high-difficulty quests and encounters with multiple monsters as your Hunter Rank increases.
Alongside these major updates, Ver. 1.011 and Title Update 2 will bring a series of "player-centric balance adjustments" to several weapons, including the Hammer, Hunting Horn, Gunlance, Light Bowgun, and Heavy Bowgun. Specific adjustments to Gunlance Artian weapons have been made to enhance their performance. Tokuda emphasized that while some parameters have been reduced, others have been increased, ensuring all weapon types offer expanded possibilities. He encouraged players to explore these changes once the update goes live, noting additional improvements for the Hammer and Dual Blades.
Quality of Life (QoL) enhancements are also on the way. Hunters can now rest in the Grand Hub and Suja, Peaks of Accord, which will restore all destroyed Pop-up Camps. A confirmation window will no longer appear when your item pouch is full; items will automatically be sent to your item box. The visibility of meal effects has been improved, with a countdown appearing 10 minutes before expiration. Notification adjustments will lower their frequency in locales, displaying only high-priority targets in the environment overview, and they will no longer block the input for opening the map.
Tokuda reiterated that players can view individual endemic life captured in the Windward Plains by selecting Check Endemic Life in Ecological Research. This feature allows you to see the names, sizes, and weights of your captured creatures, and favorite them to keep them even if you exceed storage capacity. Each creature may have unique patterns or elements, making this a valuable feature for collectors.
Stability improvements, particularly on Steam, are also part of the update. With the introduction of eight-star monsters, rewards for eight-star investigations and field surveys have been increased. Additionally, Guild Point rewards for fishing have been rebalanced, though specifics remain undisclosed.
