Monster Hunter Wilds Beta Gets Extra 24 Hours After PSN Outage

Author : Liam Update : Mar 14,2025

Capcom has extended the Monster Hunter Wilds beta following a 24-hour PlayStation Network outage that disrupted the previous test period. The PSN outage, which began around 3 PM PT on Friday, February 7th, lasted approximately 24 hours. Sony attributed the disruption to an “operational issue,” offering PlayStation Plus members five extra days of service as compensation.

This outage impacted online gameplay across the PlayStation network, including single-player titles requiring server authentication. The highly anticipated second beta for Monster Hunter Wilds, scheduled from Thursday, February 6th to Sunday, February 9th, was unfortunately affected.

In response, Capcom announced a 24-hour extension to the next beta session. This means the new testing period will run from Thursday, February 13th to Monday, February 17th, instead of the originally planned Sunday, February 16th conclusion.

The extended beta dates are:

February 13th, 7 PM PT / February 14th, 3 AM GMT – February 17th, 6:59 PM PT / February 18th, 2:59 AM GMT

Capcom confirmed that players will still be eligible to receive in-game participation bonuses available in the full release.

Despite the previous week's downtime, beta participants had the opportunity to face Monster Hunter Wilds’ challenging new adversary, Arkveld.

Monster Hunter Wilds officially launches on February 28th, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. For a deeper dive into Capcom's latest hunting adventure, explore IGN First coverage, including our Monster Hunter Wilds Final Preview [here].
