Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Returns to Esports World Cup 2025

Following the apparent success of the Esports World Cup 2024, several publishers have confirmed the return of their popular titles for the 2025 edition. Moonton's Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is the latest to join the lineup, following Garena's Free Fire.

The 2024 tournament featured two Mobile Legends: Bang Bang events: the MLBB Mid Season Cup (MSC) and the MLBB Women's Invitational. These events brought together teams from around the globe to compete in Riyadh. Selangor Red Giants secured victory in the MSC, while Smart Omega Empress triumphed in the Women's Invitational, ending Team Vitality's impressive 25-game winning streak.

A Strong Showing, But Is It Enough?

Most games from the 2024 Esports World Cup appear to be returning. However, it's notable that few, if any, of these games featured their most prestigious competitions at the event. The inclusion of MLBB's mid-season cup, for instance, might suggest to some that the Esports World Cup is viewed as a secondary event rather than the main focus.

This is a double-edged sword. While it prevents the EWC from overshadowing established leagues, it also risks being perceived as less significant than other major tournaments.

Regardless, fans of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and the other returning titles will undoubtedly welcome their participation in this prestigious tournament. For those interested in trying MLBB, a ranking of top-tier characters is available elsewhere.
