Microsoft Making Big Changes to Game Pass Quests and Rewards
Xbox Game Pass is enhancing its rewards program with new Quests and updated point-earning opportunities, exclusively for players 18 and older. Starting January 7th, PC Game Pass users will gain access to these features, previously limited to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
This expansion aims to create "age-appropriate gaming experiences," restricting access to the enhanced rewards system for those under 18. The update introduces daily, weekly, and monthly quests, alongside the return of weekly streaks. Players can earn points by playing games for at least 15 minutes, with increased point multipliers for maintaining weekly streaks. Specific quests include daily play, weekly streaks (with escalating multipliers up to 4x for four-week streaks), and monthly challenges to play four or eight different games. A new PC weekly bonus awards 150 points for playing five or more days.
The Rewards Hub, used for tracking points and redeeming rewards on Xbox consoles, the Windows PC app, and the mobile app, will be unavailable to users under 18. Younger players can still earn rewards through parental purchases of eligible items in the Microsoft store.
These changes simplify the rewards system, offering more frequent opportunities to earn points and rewards while encouraging exploration of the Game Pass catalog. Microsoft emphasizes its commitment to age-appropriate content and experiences with this update.
