MCU Movies Ranked: A Tier List

Author : Aiden Update : Apr 09,2025

With the release of Captain America: Brave New World, it's time once again to delve into the expansive Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), which now boasts an impressive lineup of 35 films. Which of these MCU gems is your favorite? Do you have a special place in your heart for the early origin stories like Iron Man? Or do you thrill to the epic team-ups that concluded the Infinity Saga? Share your thoughts using our interactive tier list tool below.

Remember, this list only includes movies from Kevin Feige's MCU, so we're leaving out the Sony Marvel films for now (apologies to fans of the X-Men, except for Wolverine, of course). Below, you can see my personal tier list, which is based entirely on the enjoyment I've derived from these films over the years:

Unfortunately, Captain America: Brave New World didn't meet my expectations, landing in the D tier due to what I believe is the MCU's clunkiest script to date. As for the rest of the bottom tier, my placement of 2024's Deadpool & Wolverine might surprise many, but it simply didn't resonate with me. You can read my detailed thoughts on this here. However, I don't consider it the worst the MCU has offered; that dubious honor goes to Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which easily fits into the D tier.

On the other end of the spectrum, the S-tier is reserved for the five films I consider truly exceptional. Both Captain America: Civil War and Winter Soldier effortlessly secure their spots in the S-tier, as they brilliantly capture the emotional essence and the gripping espionage of the MCU. Then there's Thor: Ragnarok, a standout comedy from the past decade, and the monumental Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, which provided a spectacular finale to the Infinity Saga.

Do you disagree with my rankings? Perhaps you believe No Way Home is the pinnacle of the Tom Holland Spider-Man trilogy, or that Black Panther deserves an S-tier spot? Why not create your own MCU movie tier list below and compare your S, A, B, C, and D tiers with the entire IGN community?
