LEGO Unveils 3-Foot Jurassic Park T-Rex Skeleton Set

Author : Elijah Update : May 05,2025

LEGO has just unveiled its largest Jurassic World set to date: an impressive T-rex skeleton that stretches over three feet in length. This set is designed for adult fans and comes complete with minifigures of Dr. Ellie Sattler and Dr. Alan Grant, iconic characters from the original Jurassic Park film, where the skeleton famously appears in the visitor center. Priced at $249.99, the set will be available starting March 12 for LEGO Insiders (free sign-up here) and March 15 for the general public at the LEGO Store.

LEGO Jurassic World Dinosaur Fossils: Tyrannosaurus Rex

Release Date: March 15 (March 12 for Insiders)
Price: $249.99
Pieces: 3,145
Ages: 18+
Dimensions: L: 105cm (41.3in) / H: 33cm (12.9in)

This set, comprising 3,145 pieces, is specifically tailored for adults, focusing on display rather than play. It may include more advanced building techniques, making it a challenging yet rewarding build for seasoned LEGO enthusiasts.

It can be difficult to appreciate the true scale of this set from photos alone. The inclusion of Dr. Grant and Dr. Sattler's minifigures provides some context, but remember, the completed model is indeed over three feet long. The skull of this T-rex skeleton closely resembles the LEGO T-rex skull set currently available (which I've personally seen my son assemble, and it looks fantastic), but the addition of the full skeleton significantly enhances the overall impact of this new set.

The T-rex skeleton features articulated joints, allowing for various poses. You can move the head, open the jaw, and position the arms and tail as desired. Like many LEGO sets inspired by movies, this one is packed with hidden Easter eggs for builders to discover. It also includes a display stand and an informational plaque detailing the T-rex's diet, habitat, and more.

While the LEGO Jurassic World collection may not yet rival the size of the LEGO Star Wars or LEGO Harry Potter lines, it's rapidly expanding. As an enthusiast, I'm eager to see more adult-oriented sets like this T-rex skeleton added to the lineup in the future.
