Legendary Pokémon Debut in Unova Event
Pokemon GO's GO Tour: Unova Event Brings Black and White Kyurem
Get ready, Pokémon GO trainers! Black and White Kyurem are finally arriving in Pokémon GO as part of the global GO Tour: Unova event, scheduled for March 1st and 2nd. These highly anticipated Legendary Pokémon will be available in raids, with a chance to snag their shiny forms. The event also offers special in-game backgrounds inspired by Pokémon Black and White.
The arrival of Black and White Kyurem has been long-awaited by fans. While a surprise early release occurred in 2023, their official debut has been highly anticipated, promising a significant shift in the game's competitive landscape. Their popularity within the Pokémon franchise makes this a major event for many players.
Niantic's recent announcement confirmed the duo's inclusion in the GO Tour: Unova event. The event's focus on the Unova region, the setting of Pokémon Black and White, makes Kyurem's appearance a fitting addition. Trainers can encounter Black and White Kyurem in raids and attempt to catch their shiny variants. The global event runs from 10 AM to 6 PM local time on March 1st and 2nd.
Fusion and New Attacks:
Similar to last year's Necrozma fusion, Kyurem offers fusion possibilities. Black Kyurem can fuse with Zekrom using 1,000 Volt Fusion Energy, 30 Kyurem Candy, and 30 Zekrom Candy, learning the move Freeze Shock. White Kyurem fuses with Reshiram using 1,000 Blaze Fusion Energy, 30 Kyurem Candy, and 30 Reshiram Candy, learning Ice Burn. These fusions are reversible at no cost. The required fusion energy is obtained by defeating Kyurem in raids.
Event Rewards:
Beyond the Legendary Pokémon, the event provides two special backgrounds themed after Pokémon Black and White. Completing a Kyurem fusion (either Black or White) unlocks one background, while achieving both unlocks a third, unique background.
With the GO Tour: Unova event fast approaching, trainers have just weeks to prepare for this exciting addition to Pokémon GO.
