Leaked: Early Battlefield 6 Footage Appears Online

Author : Nicholas Update : May 05,2025

Recent leaks of gameplay footage from EA's upcoming Battlefield game have surfaced online, stemming from a closed playtest. According to TheGamer, a Twitch user named anto_merguezz inadvertently streamed footage from EA's Battlefield Labs playtest, which was intended for a select group of players to help refine the game. While the original stream has been removed from anto_merguezz's Twitch page, the footage was captured and shared across platforms, notably on Reddit.

The leaked footage reaffirms the modern setting hinted at by Vince Zampella, setting it apart from previous Battlefield titles that explored historical or futuristic themes. Viewers can see intense firefights and the game's signature destructible environments in action. The community's initial reaction has been positive, a promising sign especially after the lukewarm reception to Battlefield 2042 at its launch.

Following last month's official unveiling, we've learned more about what to anticipate from the next installment in the Battlefield series. Excitingly, the game will feature a return to a traditional, single-player, linear campaign, a feature missed by fans in the multiplayer-focused Battlefield 2042.

EA has slated the release of this new Battlefield title for fiscal year 2026, which spans from April 2025 to March 2026. As the launch date approaches, we can expect more official reveals from EA. Given the recent leaks, it seems that EA will need to accelerate their plans to keep further details under wraps.

IGN has reached out to EA for a statement on the matter.
