"King of the Hill Revival Premieres August: First Look at Aging Bobby, Hank, Peggy"

Mike Judge and Greg Daniels' King of the Hill revival series is officially back with a first look at its updated time-lapse intro, set to premiere on Hulu and Disney+ starting August 4. The official X/Twitter account unveiled the news today, sharing what seems to be the complete opening credits sequence for the first episodes to air since 2010. As fans have grown older, so too have the beloved characters—Hank, Peggy, and Bobby Hill. The teaser clip showcases the Texas family moving away and ultimately returning to Arlene.

According to Hulu, "After years working a propane job in Saudi Arabia to secure their retirement fund, Hank and Peggy Hill return to a transformed Arlen, Texas, reconnecting with old friends Dale, Boomhauer, and Bill. Meanwhile, Bobby pursues his dream as a chef in Dallas, enjoying life among former classmates Connie, Joseph, and Chane."

This refreshed version hints at themes such as an aging Bobby and Dale Gribble's mayoral ambitions, but details remain scarce regarding the direction of the comedy revival. News of the return broke in 2022, followed by Hulu acquiring the rights to produce Season 14 in 2023. The series will pick up after a significant time jump, as confirmed later that year.

Many members of the original cast have reprised their roles, including Mike Judge as Hank Hill, Kathy Najimy as Peggy Hill, Pamela Adlon as Bobby Hill, and Stephen Root as Bill Dauterive. Unfortunately, Dale Gribble's voice actor, Johnny Hardwick, passed away in August 2023 at age 64 but managed to contribute recordings for the new episodes prior to his death.

King of the Hill will reunite viewers with Arlen's famous picket fences this August. In the meantime, fans can revisit an earlier glimpse of the older Bobby shared last year.
