Killing Floor 3 Release Date Postponed Further into 2025 After Closed Beta Disappoints
Killing Floor 3 Delayed to Later in 2025
Tripwire Interactive has announced a significant delay for Killing Floor 3 (KF3), pushing the release date further into 2025. This decision comes just three weeks before the originally planned March 25th launch, following a closed beta test that received overwhelmingly negative feedback.

In a March 7th, 2025 Bluesky post, Tripwire acknowledged the shortcomings of the beta. The developer stated their commitment to delivering a game that meets the expectations of the franchise's loyal fanbase, acknowledging that the beta fell short of this goal. Specific issues cited include performance and stability problems, UI/UX concerns, lighting issues, and unsatisfactory weapon feel.
Player feedback from the beta was harsh, with many describing the game as clunky, unpolished, and riddled with glitches. Criticism also targeted the game's shift away from the series' horror roots towards a more sci-fi aesthetic, and the character/class locking system implemented during the beta. One Reddit user, Captain_Pugman, poignantly summarized the sentiment: "At what point did you forget what made Killing Floor special?"
Tripwire assured fans that the team is working diligently to address these issues, promising a more polished experience upon the game's eventual release. They pledged to provide updates as they become available.
Pre-Order Refunds
Tripwire's Senior Community Manager, Yoshiro, detailed the refund process for pre-orders. Automatic cancellations and refunds will be processed for PlayStation, Xbox, and Epic Games Store purchases. US PlayStation users will have a choice to keep their pre-order or receive a refund. Steam pre-orders will require manual refunds through Steam support. Refunds for other platforms will be handled according to each vendor's individual policies.
