Jack Quaid Eager for Bioshock Role, Resembles Max Payne in Novocaine
Jack Quaid, known for his role in "The Boys," has expressed his enthusiasm for the possibility of starring in a BioShock movie. During a Reddit AMA coinciding with the release of his new film, "Novocaine," Quaid shared that BioShock is among his all-time favorite games, citing its "rich lore" as perfect material for a film or TV adaptation. "I would actually love to be in a live action adaptation of Bioshock - one of my favorite games of all time," he stated, emphasizing the depth of the game's narrative that could be brought to the screen.
The feasibility of a BioShock movie remains uncertain. Last July, producer Roy Lee mentioned that the project had undergone changes following shifts in leadership, aiming for a more "personal" approach due to budget constraints from Netflix. Despite these adjustments, details about the plot are still under wraps, leaving fans curious about the original vision. Notably, Francis Lawrence, the director behind "The Hunger Games," remains attached to helm the project.
In addition to his interest in BioShock, Quaid's resemblance to the video game character Max Payne has caught fans' attention, particularly with scenes from "Novocaine" drawing comparisons to the iconic game. Quaid, acknowledging the likeness, admitted he has yet to play Max Payne but plans to do so soon, expressing his admiration for Rockstar Games.
Quaid also shared his passion for gaming beyond BioShock, particularly praising the challenging nature of FromSoftware's titles. He mentioned conquering games like Bloodborne, Sekiro, and currently tackling Elden Ring, using Reddit as a resource for tips on overcoming the games' notorious bosses. "I'm a huge video game nerd," he confessed, highlighting his deep dive into the FromSoftware library and his growing obsession with their challenging gameplay.
