Insomniac Games Pitched Resistance 4, But Never Got It Approved
Insomniac Games' Ted Price Reveals Unmade Resistance 4 Pitch
Insomniac Games founder and retiring president, Ted Price, recently revealed in an interview with Kinda Funny Games that a Resistance 4 pitch was unfortunately never approved. While the concept was deemed "wonderful," the timing and market opportunity weren't favorable.
Price expressed the team's passion for continuing the Resistance storyline, highlighting its unique alternate history setting and the untapped potential of the Chimera aliens. The Resistance series, a trilogy of first-person shooters, captivated players with its alternate 1950s setting featuring an alien invasion of the UK. Developed for the PlayStation 3, the franchise concluded before Insomniac shifted focus to titles like Marvel's Spider-Man and the newer Ratchet & Clank games.
Price's retirement announcement earlier this year marked the end of his 30-year tenure at Insomniac. Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang have been appointed as the studio's new Co-Studio Heads. Insomniac's current projects include the recently PC-released Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and the upcoming Marvel's Wolverine.
