NCSoft Scraps Horizon MMORPG "Project H"

Guerrilla Games' Separate Horizon Online Project Remains Active

Meanwhile, Guerrilla Games continues its work on a distinct Horizon online project, internally referred to as the "Online Project." The studio publicly announced this initiative in December 2022, seeking developers to join their Amsterdam team. Recent job postings, including one for a Senior Combat Designer (November 2023) and another for a Senior Platform Engineer (January 2025), suggest a significant scale for this project, potentially targeting over one million players. The postings hint at new machines and a unique visual style.

Sony and NCSoft's Strategic Partnership

The cancellation of "Project H" comes amidst the backdrop of Sony Interactive Entertainment's (SIE) newly formed strategic partnership with NCSoft (announced November 28, 2023). While this partnership may not directly impact the future of the canceled Horizon MMORPG, it opens avenues for Sony to expand its reach into mobile gaming and other online multiplayer experiences.
