Pokémon Center Hiroshima Announces Relocation and New Gyarados-Themed Play Zone

Pokémon Center Hiroshima will temporarily close in March before reopening at a new location in April 2025. Coinciding with this move, the exciting Gyarados Plaza will debut at a separate location this March. Here's everything you need to know about these upcoming changes.

Current Pokémon Center Hiroshima location in Sogo Hiroshima Building

Pokémon Center Hiroshima will cease operations at its current location by late March before relocating to its new home around April 2025. Simultaneously, the brand-new Gyarados Plaza will open its doors in March, as confirmed by the official store announcement.

The new Pokémon Center will occupy "the second floor of Ekie, near Hiroshima Station's north exit, around April 2025!" The original location, which opened in June 2015, currently operates on the sixth floor of Sogo Hiroshima's Main Building adjacent to RIHGA Royal Hotel and facing the Hiroshima Prefectural Office.

The "Gyarados Plaza by Pokémon Center Hiroshima" will open on the rooftop of Soramoa Plaza at Minamoa, Hiroshima Station's new building. This innovative space is described as "an interactive plaza where visitors of all ages can enjoy Pokémon-themed activities, featuring large play structures shaped like Gyarados, the official mascot of Pokémon Center Hiroshima."

Mark your calendars for March 24, 2025 - the official opening date for Gyarados Plaza. During the initial period after launch, advance reservations will be required to access the play equipment. Additional details will be shared on Minamoa's official website.

For visitors planning trips to Hiroshima, note that the current store operates daily from 10:00 AM to 7:30 PM.

Poke-lun TV Celebration Event Across Japan

Before its temporary closure, Pokémon Center Hiroshima will join nationwide celebrations for "Poke-lun TV" reaching 1 million subscribers. Limited-edition original stickers will be available at participating stores.

To claim your sticker, you'll need a special password from Poke-lun TV's December 19, 2024 YouTube video. Present this password to staff at any participating Pokémon Center to receive your exclusive gift.

Photo opportunity setup at major Pokémon Centers

Major locations including Pokémon Center Mega Tokyo, Osaka, and Okinawa will feature special photo stations styled after Poke-lun TV's studio set. Fans can snap pictures with life-sized cutouts of the show's beloved hosts: Takkun, Tokichan, Ha-chan, Tai-chan, and Riri-chan.

This limited-time event runs from January 17 to February 16, 2025. Don't miss your chance to collect free exclusive stickers or take memorable photos with your favorite Poke-lun TV personalities at participating Pokémon Centers throughout Japan.

Please note this event won't be available at Pokémon Stores, Pokémon Center Online, Pokémon Cafés, or Pikachu Sweets by Pokémon Café.
