Gothic 1 Remake Demo Coming to Steam Next Fest – Featuring New Protagonist Niras

Alkimia Interactive, the developer behind the highly anticipated Gothic 1 Remake, has provided select journalists with early access to a new demo. Originally intended for Gamescom, this demo will soon be publicly available.

This demo offers a sneak peek at the full game, featuring a new protagonist: Niras, a prisoner arriving in the Miners' Valley. Unlike the original Nameless Hero, Niras's perspective will shape the early narrative interactions within the colony.

A previous Gamescom 2024 demo showcased Niras's initial arrival and introduction to the harsh world of the colony. This expanded demo, soon available to all, promises a significantly enhanced experience. The entire game, including this demo, has been meticulously rebuilt, resulting in extended gameplay, a more detailed portrayal of the orcs, and enhanced immersion. Expect a richer, more engaging experience than the original Gothic.

The Gothic 1 Remake demo will debut on Steam during the Steam Next Fest, offering a free trial from the evening of February 24th to the evening of March 3rd. Following this period, access will be revoked. The full Gothic 1 Remake is slated for release later this year on PC (Steam and GOG), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
