Freedom Wars Remastered: How to Make Strong Weapons

Quick Links

Freedom Wars Remastered plunges players into a dystopian future where they battle monstrous Abductors as Sinners. To bolster their combat prowess, players can upgrade weapons and accessories, enhancing base stats and adding modules for various boosts. This allows for early game weapon improvement, reducing reliance on mission rewards. This guide details weapon and accessory upgrades in Freedom Wars Remastered.

How To Upgrade Weapons In Freedom Wars Remastered

Weapon upgrades become available after reaching Level 002 Code Clearance in the main story. This unlocks the Facility Management Function via the Personal Responsibility Portal, granting access to the Weapon Development Facility for weapon management. Upgrades require resources and Entitlement Points, costs reducible with the assistance of a Citizen, each offering varying reduction rates based on their aptitude. While seemingly complex, the process is intuitive.

A pre-upgrade screen displays stat changes. The Weapon Development Facility also facilitates Element addition, Module experimentation, and Module Slot management. Higher Grade weapon upgrades necessitate permits purchased from the Claim Entitlement tab in the Window of Liberty.

Should You Upgrade Weapons In Freedom Wars Remastered?

Early-game missions yield limited high-Grade weapons. Zakka in The Warren offers Grade 1 weapons, making upgrading crucial. A CODE 3 Exam requires higher Grade Development Facility Permits, enabling weapon upgrades and the donation of low-Grade weapons for sentence reduction and additional Entitlement Points.

The first Weapon Development Facility upgrade unlocks the "In Search of the Strongest Weapon" trophy/achievement, with further achievements tied to the upgrade system. The substantial damage difference between Grades encourages gear improvement.

The Ability Development Facility, accessible within Facility Management, unlocks later in the game.
