Release Date and Development Progress:

While Square Enix remains tight-lipped on a concrete release date, Hamaguchi offered an encouraging update during a January 23, 2025 Famitsu interview. Kitase also expressed complete satisfaction with the finalized storyline, promising a satisfying conclusion for fans.

Timed Exclusivity Expected:

A March 6, 2024 Washington Post report suggests PlayStation secured timed exclusivity for the entire FF7 Remake trilogy. Given the release patterns of previous games – a one-year exclusivity for FF7 Remake (2020) and a six-month exclusivity for FF7 Remake Intergrade (PS5) – a similar timed exclusive launch for Part 3 on PS5 is highly probable, before subsequent releases on other platforms.

Square Enix's Multi-Platform Shift:

Despite the positive reception of the FF7 Remake series, Square Enix's financial report (March 31, 2024) revealed declining sales in its HD titles. In response, the company announced a strategic shift towards a multi-platform approach, encompassing Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms. This suggests that while Part 3 will initially launch on PS5, a wider release across multiple platforms is likely to follow.
