Explore Spider-Woman's Origins in New Marvel Contest of Champions Update
Marvel Contest of Champions is set to thrill fans with a slew of new content in April, headlined by the introduction of the new champion, Spider-Woman. Alongside her, another champion with a starkly different style, Lumatrix, will join the fray.
Here’s the Backstory of Spider-Woman in the World of Marvel Contest of Champions
Spider-Woman, known as Jessica Drew, had a unique origin story. As a child, she was exposed to uranium near her home, leading to severe illness. Her father, a brilliant geneticist, attempted a groundbreaking experiment by injecting her with a combination of spider DNA. After a long recovery, Jessica not only overcame the initial adverse effects but also gained remarkable spider powers, ultimately becoming Spider-Woman. Fans can add this new champion to their roster starting April 17th.
Before Spider-Woman makes her entrance, Lumatrix will debut on April 9th. Designed by the Founders, Lumatrix is one of their most lethal assassins, equipped with dazzling light powers to infiltrate and eliminate targets effectively.
What Else Is New?
On the narrative front, Act 9 Chapter 2, titled "Inquisition," brings intense developments. Carina suffers grave injuries after confronting Ouroborus forces, while Doctor Doom forms an alliance with the Fantastic Four to combat the spreading Chronoserpent corruption. A new villain, Lotan, also emerges on the scene.
A new Event Quest, "Spy Games," launches on April 9th and continues until May 7th. Black Widow delves into the enigmatic Eidols and enlists Spider-Woman's help to unravel the mystery.
Dark Phoenix returns in the Side Quest with "Dark Bounties," challenging players to track down champions on her bounty list and claim their rewards.
The "Incursions: Dark Phoenix Saga Sector" makes a comeback, offering players the chance to assemble their top Saga champions and battle for Dark Plumes, Light Essence, Tier 7 Basic Fragments, and 7-Star Class Signature Stones.
