Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test: Confirmation Emails Sent, Scams Emerge

FromSoftware has begun distributing confirmation emails for the highly anticipated Elden Ring Nightreign network test, announced via their Twitter (X) account on January 30, 2025. Excited fans are sharing their confirmations, expressing their anticipation for the upcoming playtest.

Selected participants will receive a second email on February 11, 2025, containing a unique code to download the test client for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The registration period, open from January 10th to 20th, 2025, has concluded, and there's currently no word on additional test opportunities.

The Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test Itself

FromSoftware describes the network test as a crucial "preliminary verification" phase, involving selected players testing a portion of the game to assess online system performance under large-scale network load. This will help determine server capacity for the full game's launch. The test runs from February 14th to 16th, 2025, with five 3-hour sessions:

• Session 1: February 14th, 3 AM - 6 AM PT
• Session 2: February 14th, 7 PM - 10 PM PT
• Session 3: February 15th, 11 AM - 2 PM PT
• Session 4: February 16th, 3 AM - 6 AM PT
• Session 5: February 16th, 7 PM - 10 PM PT

Beware of Scams and Scalpers

Reports indicate a surge in fraudulent activity. Beware of suspicious Steam invites promising access to the network test; clicking these links may lead to account compromise and unwanted messages to your friend list. FromSoftware emphasizes that official communication regarding the test is solely through their website and social media channels.

Exploiting the excitement, scalpers are already attempting to profit from the limited access. Despite codes not being released until February 11th, numerous online marketplaces are listing "confirmed test codes" at exorbitant prices, ranging from $150 to $200, with some even auctioned off.

Originally revealed during the 2024 Game Awards, Elden Ring Nightreign is slated for release in 2025 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. A precise release date remains unannounced.
