Elden Ring: Nightreign will only be tested on consoles

FromSoftware's upcoming title will initially be tested only on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Registration opens January 10th, with testing in February. This excludes a large portion of the fanbase from early access.

Bandai Namco has yet to explain the exclusion of PC players from this initial test phase. However, selected console players will get a head start experiencing the new game before its official launch.

Elden Ring: Nightreign continues the storyline of its predecessor, offering new challenges within a dark and unsettling world. While console gamers enjoy this early access, PC users will need to await further announcements regarding potential future testing opportunities.

A notable change in Elden Ring: Nightreign is the removal of the in-game message feature. Director Junya Ishizaki clarified this decision, stating that the approximately forty-minute play sessions are too short to accommodate message sending and reading. He stated, "We removed the messaging feature due to insufficient time within the roughly forty-minute sessions."
