Dungeonborne Set to Close Down, Official Statement

The developers behind the PvPvE action game Dungeonborne, which drew inspiration from the acclaimed Dark and Darker, have officially announced the cessation of support for the game and the imminent closure of its servers. Launched with much anticipation, Dungeonborne unfortunately struggled to maintain its player base over its short lifespan of less than a year, primarily due to dwindling player activity and the absence of substantial updates.

While the game's page remains available on Steam, it has become invisible to the platform's search function and can only be accessed through a direct link. Although the developers have not publicly detailed the reasons for the shutdown, it's evident that the game's critically low player numbers were a significant factor. Since the latter part of 2024, Dungeonborne saw peak concurrent players barely reaching 200, with recent figures plummeting to a mere 10-15 players.

The final chapter for Dungeonborne will be written on May 28 when its servers are permanently taken offline, marking the end of what was once a promising project. Initially, the game garnered attention from enthusiasts of the genre, but it will now quietly recede into gaming history without fulfilling its early promise.
