Discover the Hill Troll Location in Rune Slayer
As you approach the maximum level in *Rune Slayer*, you'll likely find yourself eager to take on the Hill Troll. Not only does it offer a substantial amount of XP, but it's also a prime spot for farming early endgame loot. The challenge, however, lies in locating this formidable giant. In this guide, we'll show you **exactly how to find the Hill Troll in *Rune Slayer***.
Hill Troll Location in Rune Slayer
The Hill Troll is cleverly hidden in a cave on the side of the mountain in Bahlgar. The most straightforward path to reach this location starts from the elevator in Lakeshire. Once you're in Bahlgar, instead of heading directly to the Beastmen, keep close to the mountain wall and continue around it. You'll pass **two platinum deposits** and should then look towards **one side of the mountain** to spot the entrance to the Troll's cave. To enter, you'll need to jump into this opening, and doing so on **a mount** can make it easier. It may seem tricky at first, but after your initial visit, returning to the cave will become second nature. Hill Troll – Strategy, Loot, and Quest
Despite its intimidating appearance, the Hill Troll is **one of the more manageable mini-bosses** in *Rune Slayer*. You'll likely face it multiple times, making its attack patterns familiar over time.

It's crucial not to tackle the Hill Troll alone. Even though its attacks are slow and predictable, teaming up with at least one other player is advisable. Many players enjoy farming the Troll, so finding a group shouldn't be too difficult. Plus, the Troll respawns just **90 seconds** after being defeated, allowing for efficient farming.
The Troll uses a giant pillar to attack, delivering slow yet powerful blows. You can parry and block most of its attacks, but when it raises the pillar overhead with both hands, it's time to run, as this move stuns. With enough damage, you can stagger the Troll, and if you're playing as a **Warrior Class**, a well-timed Counter can almost always stun it.
While the Hill Troll occasionally drops extremely rare equipment, your main focus should be on farming **Troll Hides and Troll Heads**. Troll Hides are essential for crafting **solid endgame equipment**, which, while not the best, will prepare you for tougher challenges like the Mother Spider.

The **Troll Head** is a key item for the repeatable **Hodor Quest**. Every hour, you can hand a Troll Head to Hodor, who is stationed near the cave, for a chance at some random, potentially overpowered loot. If you're already farming the Hill Troll, it makes sense to participate in this quest as well.
Can You Tame the Hill Troll in Rune Slayer?
Unfortunately, **you cannot tame the Hill Troll** in *Rune Slayer*, even if you're playing as a Beast Tamer Archer. As a mini-boss, the Hill Troll is too large and unwieldy to serve as a pet. It's also doubtful the Troll could even navigate out of its cave. If you're a Beast Tamer Archer, stick to taming the reliable Mud Crab.
That's all you need to know about fighting the Hill Troll in *Rune Slayer*. Enjoy the battle (and the repetition), and we hope you secure some fantastic loot. For more guidance on navigating the endgame, check out our Essential *Rune Slayer* End Game Tips.
