Civilization VI Android Update Now Feature-Complete
- The latest update launches on June 12th.
- Three new units, four maps, new game modes, and additional content
- Two new passes will be released as well
Aspyr is finally bringing Android users up to speed with the rest of the Civilization VI community. On June 12th, the Android version of Sid Meier’s Civilization VI will get a substantial update, introducing previously missing features, maps, and content to match other platforms. Two major expansions will also become available for purchase on Android for the first time.
To start, the update adds three new units. Trebuchets bridge the gap between Catapults and Bombards, Men-at-Arms strengthen your melee line in the Medieval era, and Line Infantry smooth the transition from Musketmen to late-game Infantry. These units address progression gaps, offering better tactical flexibility throughout the game.
You’ll also explore four new maps, including a sprawling Mediterranean and a massive Earth map, each with variants placing your civilization in its historic capital. For players who enjoy alternative rules, Tech and Civic Shuffle and Barbarian Clans modes are also coming to Android, adding welcome unpredictability to games.

The update also includes highly requested features like Natural Wonder and City-State Pickers, enabling you to customize world generation, along with the Leader Selection Pool and new leader Julius Caesar. Additionally, over 50 bugs will be fixed, and multiplayer performance sees a notable improvement.
