CC Remastered Closes iOS Chapter
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered iOS Shutdown Due to Unresolved In-App Purchase Issues
Fans of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered on iOS will be disappointed to learn that the game's iOS version is shutting down. This follows persistent problems with in-app purchases, which developers have been unable to rectify.
While a fix was attempted, it unfortunately resulted in the termination of iOS support. Players who made in-app purchases after January 2024 can, however, claim refunds. Details on how to do so have been released by the developers.
Originally launched on the Nintendo GameCube with a unique (though admittedly complex) multiplayer system utilizing Game Boy Advances as controllers, Crystal Chronicles enjoyed a resurgence with its mobile port. Sadly, this mobile iteration's lifespan has been cut short by unresolved payment issues.
Refund Information Available
Crystal Chronicles has provided instructions for players to obtain refunds for inaccessible purchased content. While this may not fully compensate for the game's removal, it at least prevents players from losing money.
The situation ironically highlights the challenges of preserving games, especially on mobile platforms. A title initially hampered by its innovative design now faces obsolescence on a different platform. This underscores the ongoing concerns regarding mobile game preservation.
