Blizzard Unveils Six Upcoming Warcraft Gatherings

Blizzard's Warcraft 30th Anniversary World Tour: A Global Celebration

Blizzard Entertainment is commemorating three decades of Warcraft with a global tour featuring six fan conventions across the globe from February to May. These events promise live entertainment, exclusive activities, and opportunities to connect with Warcraft game developers. Free, limited-availability tickets will be distributed via regional Warcraft channels; details on how to secure tickets will be announced soon.

In a departure from the traditional BlizzCon format, Blizzard chose to participate in other events in 2024, including Gamescom, and launched its inaugural Warcraft Direct. This digital showcase unveiled new content for various Warcraft titles, including World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, and Warcraft Rumble.

Now, in 2025, Blizzard is celebrating Warcraft's 30th anniversary, as well as key milestones like World of Warcraft's 20th anniversary, Hearthstone's 10th, and Warcraft Rumble's first year, with a series of six intimate conventions. The tour kicks off February 22nd in London, UK, and continues to Seoul, Toronto, Sydney, Sao Paulo, culminating in Boston, USA (during PAX East) on May 10th.

Warcraft 30th Anniversary World Tour Dates:

  • February 22 – London, United Kingdom
  • March 8 – Seoul, South Korea
  • March 15 – Toronto, Canada
  • April 3 – Sydney, Australia
  • April 19 – Sao Paulo, Brazil
  • May 10 – Boston, United States (during PAX East)

While specifics about the conventions are scarce, the announcement highlights live performances, unique experiences, and developer meetups. The focus appears to be on creating memorable fan experiences rather than major announcements, unlike BlizzCon or Warcraft Direct.

Ticket acquisition will be different this time. Instead of sales, Blizzard plans to offer free, highly limited tickets. Information on how to obtain these tickets will be shared through regional Warcraft community channels. Fans eager to attend should keep an eye on their regional announcements.

The future of BlizzCon remains uncertain. With World of Warcraft's roadmap hinting at a late summer/early autumn reveal for the Midnight expansion (including the anticipated player housing), a BlizzCon event, either in-person or digital, is still a possibility. Blizzard's decision to forgo BlizzCon in 2024 doesn't rule out future events, suggesting a potential shift to a biennial convention schedule. Regardless, securing a spot at the Warcraft World Tour is highly recommended, as it promises a unique and engaging celebration of the Warcraft universe.
