The Patch 8 stress test update addresses various bugs, crashes, and scripting errors. It also ensures Gale correctly interacts with magical items. This update is only available to those participating in the stress test. Players not in the test will need to wait for the official Patch 8 release to experience these improvements.

Key improvements include: persistent container contents after destruction, improved Steam Deck Photo Mode screenshotting, more responsive character poses, enhanced cross-play functionality, updated Booming Blade tooltip values, and numerous crash fixes. For a complete list of changes, visit the official Baldur's Gate 3 website.

Patch 8 is a major update, anticipated to be one of the final large content additions before Larian moves on from Faerûn. It includes highly anticipated features like cross-platform play, over 12 new subclasses (including Death Domain Cleric, Path of Giants Barbarian, and Arcane Archer Fighter), and the much-requested Photo Mode.

Unleash Your Inner Photographer with Photo Mode

While waiting for Patch 8, explore the in-depth Photo Mode sneak peek video. Larian aims to empower players to maximize Photo Mode's potential from day one.

Access Photo Mode virtually anywhere—during exploration, combat, and even in multiplayer (for the host). Customize character poses, include or exclude party members, and even add extra elements like a screen-filling frog. The free-moving camera provides ultimate control over your shots.

Apply post-processing effects, stickers, and frames to personalize your creations. Note that during dialogues and cutscenes, only post-processing effects are available.

This is just the start; Larian plans to release a follow-up video with tips and tricks to further inspire player creativity.
