Befriend Dwarves in 'Stardew Valley' for Rewards and Lore

This guide helps you befriend the enigmatic Dwarf in Stardew Valley. While this reclusive miner doesn't offer the same rewards as other villagers, befriending him adds a unique, fantastical element to your game. Recent updates have impacted friendship mechanics, so this guide reflects the current gameplay.

Meeting the Dwarf

Located in the mines, to the right of the first floor entrance, a large boulder hides the Dwarf's shop. Destroy it with a copper pickaxe or bomb to reveal his dwelling.

Unlocking Communication

The Dwarf speaks Dwarvish. To understand him, donate all four Dwarf Scrolls to the Museum. Gunther will reward you with a Dwarvish translation guide, opening communication.

Gift Giving: The Key to Friendship

Gifts are crucial for building friendship. You can give up to two gifts weekly. His birthday (Summer 22nd) multiplies friendship points gained by eight.

Movie Theater Encounters

Once the Movie Theater opens, invite the Dwarf. He loves all movies, but his snack preferences are specific. He loves Stardrop Sorbet and Rock Candy, and likes Cotton Candy, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jawbreaker, Salmon Burger, Sour Slimes, and Star Cookie. Other snacks will lower his enjoyment.
