Bandai Namco Unveils Digimon Alysion: Digital Card Game
Bandai Namco is set to launch Digimon Alysion, a digital adaptation of the popular Digimon Card Game, on both Android and iOS platforms. This free-to-play game was officially announced at Digimon Con 2025, held on March 19th. Alongside this exciting reveal, Bandai Namco shared other updates, including the continuation of Digimon Liberator with a new arc in April 2025, a special video celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Digimon anime, and the announcement of a new project, Digimon Adventure: Beyond. Additionally, they're developing a new RPG for consoles and PC titled Digimon Story: Time Stranger.
If You Play Digimon Card Game, Alysion Isn’t the Same
Digimon Alysion isn't merely a digital replica of the physical card game. It introduces a new feature called 'DigiAly' cards, which are exclusive to this mobile version, alongside the classic cards. Bandai Namco is also bringing fresh Digimon and characters into the mix. The game's website showcases a predominantly all-female character lineup, which is a unique choice for a digital card game and has sparked some skepticism among fans hoping for a more traditional adaptation.
This isn't Bandai Namco's first foray into Digimon mobile games, and their previous attempts haven't been particularly successful. With two failed tries under their belt, there's a cautious optimism surrounding Digimon Alysion. Despite the past, I'm eagerly anticipating its release. A closed beta test is planned, though specifics remain undisclosed. For more information, check out their official website or follow their updates on X.
