The stress test for what might be the final major patch of Baldur's Gate III, Patch 8, is now underway. Early access to this patch was previously granted to some Sony console players, but for those who prefer to wait, the developers suggest reinstalling the game to ensure a smooth experience.

One of the standout features of Patch 8 is the introduction of crossplay, enabling seamless gameplay between console and PC users. This feature allows players to invite friends from different platforms, provided they are linked via a Larian account. Even more exciting, modded gameplay is supported across platforms, but there are stipulations: all mods used by a PC player must be compatible with Mac and consoles, and the host's lobby should not have more than a double-digit number of mods installed.

For multiplayer enthusiasts, a much-anticipated feature is now in testing: split-screen co-op on Xbox Series S. This marks a significant upgrade for users of the console, which previously did not support this mode.

Patch 8 also introduces a robust photo mode with extensive customization options, alongside 12 new subclasses to enrich the gameplay experience. Larian Studios has tackled numerous bugs and made balance adjustments, although some issues persist. A comprehensive list of changes for the stress test can be found on the game’s official page.
