Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios unveil a new chapter in the Avatar universe: Avatar: Seven Havens. Celebrating the franchise's 20th anniversary, creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko have announced a thrilling 26-episode, 2D animated series.

This new installment follows a young Earthbender, the Avatar after Korra, in a world ravaged by a cataclysmic event. The press release describes a perilous setting where the Avatar's title is a harbinger of destruction, not salvation. Hunted by both human and spirit foes, the young Avatar and their twin sibling must unravel their enigmatic past to safeguard the Seven Havens before civilization crumbles.

DiMartino and Konietzko expressed their excitement, stating, "The creation of the original series never anticipated this continued world expansion decades later. This new Avatarverse iteration is brimming with fantasy, mystery, and a captivating array of new characters."

Avatar: Seven Havens will be structured into two 13-episode seasons (Book 1 and Book 2). DiMartino and Konietzko are co-creating the series alongside executive producers Ethan Spaulding and Sehaj Sethi. Casting details remain unannounced.

This marks Avatar Studios' first major television series. They are also producing a feature-length animated film centered on Aang, slated for a theatrical release on January 30, 2026, showcasing Aang's adventures as an adult.

The 20th anniversary celebrations extend beyond Seven Havens, encompassing new books, comics, concerts, merchandise, and even a Roblox game.
