Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator Global Announces EOS
Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator's Global Server Closure
Another mobile game is closing its doors. Koei Tecmo and Akatsuki Games have announced the end-of-service (EOS) for the global version of their RPG, Atelier Resleriana.
This news comes just over a year after the global launch in January 2024, indicating underperformance. The Japanese version, launched in September 2023, remains operational and is preparing for its 1.5-year anniversary in March 2025—a stark contrast to the global version's fate.
Atelier Resleriana Global Server Shutdown Date
Ironically, the global server shutdown is scheduled for March 28th, 2025, coinciding with the Japanese server's anniversary celebrations. Global players will conclude their journey at Chapter 21 (Part 1), while Japanese players progress through Chapter 22 (Part 2).
In-game purchases are disabled, but remaining Lodestar Gems can be used until the shutdown. Koei Tecmo promises continued content and events leading up to the closure. The global version's recent first anniversary on January 25th now feels bittersweet.
Reasons for the Global Server Closure
Developers cited an inability to maintain satisfactory player standards as the reason for the closure. The game struggled to gain traction, with player complaints surfacing about the gacha system, gameplay, monetization, and excessive power creep just months after launch. These factors ultimately led to the EOS announcement.
Players wishing to bid farewell can still find the game on the Google Play Store. Alternatively, consider exploring other titles, such as the current Sky: Children of the Light Lunar New Year 2025 event.
