Assassin\'s Creed Windows 11 Issues Have Been Fixed
Recent Windows 11 Update Disrupts Assassin's Creed Gameplay; Patches Released
A recent Windows 11 update (24H2) introduced compatibility issues for several Assassin's Creed titles. Fortunately, Ubisoft has swiftly addressed the problem for Assassin's Creed Origins and Assassin's Creed Valhalla with dedicated patches. These updates, available via Steam, resolve launch and functionality problems experienced by players after installing the Windows update. Note that the Origins patch requires 230 MB of free space, while the Valhalla patch needs 500 MB.
However, the issue persists for some Ubisoft games, notably Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Players reporting problems with Odyssey should postpone updating to Windows 11 24H2 until a dedicated patch is released. While previous patches addressed major issues in Star Wars: Outlaws and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, some performance problems may remain.
The root cause of the incompatibility remains unclear. Although Ubisoft has resolved the issue for two major Assassin's Creed titles, the delayed response is concerning, especially given Microsoft's push for Windows 10 users to upgrade to Windows 11. The situation highlights the potential for unforeseen conflicts between system updates and game compatibility. Gamers are advised to monitor Ubisoft's announcements for further updates regarding Assassin's Creed Odyssey and other potentially affected titles.
