I wasn’t planning to buy more Pokémon cards this week, but then I stumbled upon the Scarlet & Violet – Surging Sparks Booster Bundle still in stock on Amazon for $45.02. The massive Pokémon TCG restock has perfectly coincided with the Amazon Spring Sale, making it an ideal time to grab some of the hottest sets before they're gone. My resolve crumbled faster than a 60 HP Basic facing off against a 390-damage Hydreigon ex.

The Surging Sparks set is a whirlwind of excitement. It's packed with chase cards that are not only stunning but also valuable enough to be professionally graded, like the $432 Pikachu ex Special Illustration Rare. Yes, you read that right. Then there's the Latias ex and Latios duo, reminiscent of a romantic movie scene with their interconnected artwork. Latias, the rarer of the two, comes with a price tag of over $200, proving that being the older sibling comes with a higher cost. Milotic ex, on the other hand, showcases stunning light and shadow effects, while also serving as a formidable counter to Tera Pokémon, making it a versatile choice for competitive play.

My personal favorite? Ceruledge. It's like a neon fever dream, and I mean that in the best way possible. This is the first time its card has been truly valuable, and illustrator Rond truly deserves applause. Or at least a coffee. Ceruledge might not be a top-tier competitor, but with art this captivating, who needs competitive edge?

For collectors, the potential for value is undeniable. For players, some of these cards are game-changers on the battlefield. And if you're simply drawn to the allure of shiny things and the thrill of spending $45 on cardboard, you're not alone. I've already opened one box and am now persuading myself that I "need" another for research purposes.

The bundle includes six booster packs, so while you're not guaranteed to pull any big hits, with the current demand, it's wise not to delay. After all, Pikachu won't pull itself.
