Alienware Has the Best Price on a GeForce RTX 4090 Prebuilt Gaming PC

Author : Sadie Update : Mar 29,2025

The GeForce RTX 4090, though a generation behind the new Blackwell 50 series GPUs, remains a powerhouse in the world of graphics cards. It outperforms the GeForce RTX 5080, RTX 4080 Super, Radeon RX 9070 XT, and RX 7900 XTX, with only the RTX 5090 surpassing it. However, securing an RTX 5090 can be challenging due to its high demand and inflated prices.

As the RTX 4090 has been discontinued, finding one has become more difficult. Fortunately, Dell offers two prebuilt gaming PC models that can be equipped with this GPU at competitive prices. The Alienware Aurora R16 starts at $2,999.99, and the Dell Tower Plus at $2,849.99. These are among the best deals available for a system with an RTX 4090, as other manufacturers like Lenovo and HP no longer offer such configurations.

This Alienware Aurora R16 is packed with an Intel Core Ultra 7 265F CPU, GeForce RTX 4090 GPU, 16GB of DDR5-5200MHz RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD. The processor can be upgraded to an Intel Core Ultra 9 285K, but for gaming, the default Intel Core Ultra 7 265F is more than sufficient. It boasts a max turbo frequency of 5.3GHz and 20 cores, cooled by a 240mm all-in-one liquid cooler. The system is powered by a robust 1,000W 80PLUS Platinum power supply.

The Dell Tower Plus offers similar specs with an Intel Core Ultra 7 265F CPU, GeForce RTX 4090 GPU, 16GB of DDR5-5200MHz RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD. Upgrading the processor to the Intel Core Ultra 7 285K for an additional $100 is recommended, as it not only improves performance but also enhances cooling from standard to advanced air cooling, supporting a 125W TDP. It's powered by a 1,000W 80PLUS Platinum power supply.

How does the RTX 4090 stack up against current cards?

The RTX 4090 is the pinnacle of the RTX 40 series, only outclassed by the RTX 5090 in the Blackwell series. It effortlessly handles 4K gaming with over 60fps, even with max settings and ray tracing enabled, especially when DLSS is supported. The only exception is path tracing, which is typically used for benchmarks or showcasing. While the RTX 5090 offers better performance, the RTX 4090's capabilities are more than adequate for most gamers.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 GPU Review by Chris Coke

"The RTX 4090 may be large and pricey, but its performance is unparalleled. As the sole new-generation card available, it outperforms all recent predecessors. Its impressive specs and DLSS 3 AI technology justify its $1,599 price tag with exceptional frame rates."

Dell also offers an Alienware Aurora R16 with the new GeForce RTX 5080 GPU for $2,499.99. In our Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 FE review, Jackie notes that "The RTX 5080 doesn't offer a significant performance leap over the RTX 4080, but DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Generation enhances gameplay in supported titles. It's an excellent upgrade for those with older graphics cards looking for a substantial boost."
