Snapchat's 2024 Year in Review: Your Snap Recap

Looking back on the year? Many apps offer year-end recaps, and Snapchat is joining the party with its new 2024 Snap Recap feature.

What is a Snap Recap?

Unlike Spotify Wrapped or Twitch's recap, which focus on detailed statistics, the Snap Recap offers a more casual, visual journey through your year. It selects a single Snap from each month of 2024, creating a fun (and maybe slightly embarrassing) montage of your year's highlights. The recap seamlessly transitions into your Memories, allowing you to explore further flashbacks from previous years.

How to Access Your 2024 Snap Recap

Accessing your recap is simple. On the main Snapchat camera screen, swipe up to open Memories. Don't press the shutter button; just swipe. Your 2024 Snap Recap will be prominently displayed – a highlighted video at the top of the screen.

Tap the recap (avoiding the blue share icon) to view your curated selection of Snaps. The recap plays automatically; tap the screen to advance if needed. You can save, edit, share, or even add it to your Story. Like other Snaps, it remains private until you choose to share it.

Why Don't I Have a Snap Recap?

If your 2024 Snap Recap isn't appearing, don't panic. Snapchat is rolling these out gradually. The frequency of your Snap usage plays a role; if you haven't been actively using the app, you may not receive one. Unfortunately, Snapchat Support states that you can't request a recap if one isn't generated. Give it some time; it may appear later.
