Unlike other chess AI mobile games, ChessCraft empowers you to design custom boards, pieces, and rules, then instantly play against a capable AI opponent.

Design completely new pieces by combining eight bishop or rook-style slides, and a 7x7 grid of knight-like jumps. Pieces can even influence nearby pieces! Create boards up to 16x16, enabling or disabling tiles as you wish. Set promotion rules for any piece, anywhere on the board. Add tile rules like teleporters, sanctuaries, and more. The sophisticated AI, leveraging computer science and graph theory, adapts to your custom creations and provides a challenging game.

Share your unique board designs with friends, generating a dedicated webpage for each creation (example: https://www.chesscraft.ca/design?id=shape-variant1). Your friends can then play against the AI on your custom board.

ChessCraft is comprehensive and free, with minimal ads. Occasional prompts to become a ChessCraft Patron may appear; however, patronage is not required to play. Teachers, students, or those facing financial hardship can request a special code via email.
